Dr. Michael
P. Frank
Assistant Professor
Hi there! Welcome to the home page of Dr. Michael P. Frank, Ph.D. You can
call me Mike. I'm a new tenure-track faculty member (at the assistant professor
level) here at the UF CISE
department. If you want to read more about me, you can check out my
previous
home page that I maintained as a graduate student and postdoctoral
researcher at the MIT AI
Lab. Here is some other important info:
How to contact me:
Email address: mpf@cise.ufl.edu
Office: CSE Building, Room E442
Office mailing addr: Box 116120, Gainesville FL 32611 USA
Office phone: (352) 392-6888
Home phone: (352) 336-0627 (Urgent
calls only please.)
Research interests:
Reversible computing
(theory, hardware, and programming), low-power
electronics,
physical
limits of computation, superconducting
logic circuits, quantum
computing, various proposed nano-scale computing technologies,
markets
for distributed computing, and parallel architectures and algorithms.
Note to prospective grad students:
Unfortunately, I can't hire any RAs at the moment, because I don't have
any funding yet. If you are interested in working with me, ask me
about support again in Spring '01, and apply for other support such as
a departmental TAship in the meantime. Nevertheless, I am happy to
serve on graduate advising committees, and to supervise self-supported
grad students, senior projects, or independent study work. If you
don't have your own research topic idea, I have some
suggestions.
